Use the plastic film to keep the moisture inside.

Light

Place the terrarium in a location with indirect sunlight. Moss and ferns prefer filtered light rather than direct sun, which can scorch their delicate leaves.

Humidity

Moss, ferns and terrarium plants thrive in humid environments. To maintain humidity, mist the terrarium regularly and consider placing a small dish of water inside the terrarium to create a humid microclimate.

Pruning

Trim any yellowing or dead leaves from the ferns to promote healthy growth. Additionally, remove any debris or fallen leaves from the terrarium to prevent mold and pest infestations.

Plastic Film

We install a layer of plastic film on our terrariums, trimmed close to the edge to be unobtrusive. Please keep this film in place as much as possible to maintain the humidity and create a perfect microclimate for your plants.

Watering

Mist the terrarium lightly every 8-10 weeks or whenever the top layer of soil feels or looks Dry. Avoid overwatering, as excessive moisture can lead to root rot.

Air Circulation

While moss and ferns appreciate high humidity, they also require good air circulation to prevent mold and mildew. Periodically remove the plastic lid or open any vents to allow fresh air to circulate within the terrarium. Put the plastic film again, you can use the one you use in the kitchen.

Fertilization

Moss and ferns typically do not require fertilization in a terrarium environment. However, if growth appears slow or the plants seem pale, you can dilute a liquid houseplant fertilizer to half strength and apply it sparingly during the growing season.
